Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I pick a list topic that already exists?
If you see a list similar to something you'd like to create, by choosing the existing topic, you're list will be automatically linked to that larger community. Others will have easy access to your list, and you'll have single-click access to compare your list with others!
Don't feel pressured, however. You're always free to create any topic you'd like. Perhaps soon, others will be using your topics as ideas for their own lists!
Why top ten? Can I have more? Can I have less?
To keep things simple and consistent - 10uous lists are fixed in length. Beyond that point, it's an arbitrary choice on how long to make it. Ten seems to be popular.
Feel free to fill in as many entries as you'd like, ten's just our limit. 12uous didn't sound right to us.
Search on Amazon -- what is that all about?
If you're like us, a lot of your lists will be things you can find on amazon.com. Favorite books, movies, album, etc. It seemed like a semi-useful link to find out more information on, perhaps a band you have never heard of, for example. By also taking part of Amazon's affiliate program, you can help fund this site, allowing us to continue providing it to you free of charge. Please feel free to ignore them, or use them at your discretion. Alternatively, registered users can turn off the links from their Account Settings page. Your support is of course, greatly appreciated.
What does 10uous mean? How do I pronounce it?
Tenuous.
